European Solidarity Corps

The European Solidarity Corps is an EU initiative for people aged 18–30 that gives young people the chance to take part in solidarity activities that benefit communities across Europe and beyond. The programme provides grants to organisations, and participants join projects that support social causes, strengthen solidarity, and help make positive community impact.

Finnish Youth Centres and ESC

The Finnish Youth Centres are actively involved in the European Solidarity Corps’ volunteering activities. Volunteering through ESC lets young people take part in meaningful community activities in the Finnish Youth Centres. Through the volunteering programme, you can volunteer either individually or as part of an international team consisting of young people from different countries.

Volunteering individually lasts from 2 weeks to 12 months, and in teams from 2 weeks to 2 months. Volunteers work full-time (between 30 to 38 hours a week) in different tasks, helping where support is needed. Tasks can include, for example, preparing and hosting games and activities for children and youth groups visiting the Youth Centres.

The programme usually cover costs regarding travel, accommodation, food, insurance, and training.

How to register?

To start your volunteering journey in the Finnish Youth Centres, you need to first register in the European Solidarity Corps. Create an EU Login account, set up your European Solidarity Corps profile, and apply for volunteering opportunities!
