Vasatokka Youth Centre

Vasatokka is located in a beautiful lakeside setting on the shore of Muddusjärvi, in the municipality of Inari. The Youth Centre offers visitors Lapland’s unique wilderness, fells, and rich local culture.

What is Vasatokka like?

At Vasatokka, guests are accommodated either in apartments for 23 people or in well-equipped holiday cottages. Vasatokka has a total of 120 beds. Delicious meals are prepared by Vasatokka’s own kitchen. Depending on the programme, meals can also be served outdoors or at a lakeside hut.

Vasatokka’s own activities guarantee unforgettable experiences for camps, recreation days, or trainings. How about making your own traditional souvenier from Lapland, going on a canoeing trip, panning for gold, or trying out wall climbing? After an active day, you can relax and reflect on the day’s events in the warmth of the lakeside sauna.

At Vasatokka, youth camps, camp schools, recreation days, or even family celebrations are organised effortlessly! We will execute your ideas according to your needs! At Vasatokka, you can explore, for example, Sámi culture, the northern wilderness, and reindeer herding. The visit is crowned with a camp baptism in the waves of the Arctic Ocean!

Camps can last from a single day to a full week-long adventure, that the whole group enjoys. The planning and execution of camp schools support school curricula and independent learning. Guests are served by the friendly and skilled staff, including youth work professionals experienced with children.

Independent visit to Vasatokka

Yes, it’s possible! Beautiful nature, stunning landscapes, water and wilderness. Space and quiet. In front of Vasatokka lies the beautiful Muddusjärvi and the wilderness area of the Muotkatunturi fells. Lemmenjoki National Park and Finland’s third-largest lake, Inarijärvi, are also close.

Vasatokka is open year-round for guests of all ages and interests. Various activities can be arranged for groups depending on the season. Vasatokka provides meals and equipment for outdoor adventures. There are five holiday cottages close to the shore of Muddusjärvi. The main building has accommodation for 80 people in four hostel-style apartments. The apartments are suitable for groups and for those seeking affordable, simple accommodation.
