Helsinki's most memorable youth hostel

A night in a former Russian schoolhouse on the World Heritage island of Suomenlinna is a truly memorable experience. Cosy Hostel Suomenlinna is located on the maritime fortress island just off the coast of Helsinki, Finland, easily accessible by public transportation.

Hostel Suomenlinna offers lodging facilities featuring single beds in shared rooms or in rooms accommodating one, two or three people. Each of the group rooms contains lockers that can be locked. Restrooms and showers are communal. The building also features a common kitchen for resident use, a free broadband connection and an opportunity to do laundry. The Hostel is also equipped to serve breakfast on request.

The maritime fortress island of Suomenlinna contains several museums, restaurants, cafes, shops and a library, in addition to a summer theatre and other cultural activities. The exciting and diverse events and nightlife of the Helsinki city centre are also just short ferry ride away.

As a national youth centre, Hostel Suomenlinna activities are subject to the same rules and regulations that apply to every other youth centre in Finland and uphold the values of the Finnish Youth Act. Any surplus generated by Hostel Suomenlinna activities is redirected by mandate back into the development of youth activities in Finland.

Hostel Suomenlinna is open year round.
