Nuotta training gets life in order
Nuotta training helps young people to take the reins of their lives into their own hands, encouraging youth to find their own inner strength and begin to build plans for their future. The objective of Nuotta is to foster day-to-day coping and time management, developing skills that are needed in studies and working life. Nuotta training is a component of crucial social youth work and social empowerment as a service entirety.
Nuotta training is meant for young people aged 13 to 28 who for whatever reason have become marginalized from school or working life. Young people most often enter into training via connections from youth work, workshops, schools or the authorities, although it is also possible for young people to apply to the training programme directly.
Training is provided at nine Youth Centres, located in different parts of Finland. The point of departure for development of the training is the Centres' solid competence in action-based and experiential pedagogy and youth work. The contents of Nuotta training vary according to the particular skills and operating environments of the Youth Centres in question, but the main goal remains the same: to help young people master their daily life.
A regional cross-disciplinary cooperation network operates alongside the Youth Centres, including regional youth work, municipal education and social service representatives, and workshops and learning institutions.
